The Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm Compact is provided with with 3 interchangeable grip inserts. These interchangeable grip inserts allow the size of the grip to be modified in order to meet the needs of shooters with all hand types. They are made of a rubber like material and fill the palm nicely, creating a very comfortable graps on the handgun. Once of the two magazines has a small grip extension which provides aides in providing enough gripping area for the pinky finger. The other magazine is fits flush with the bottom of the grip for maximum concealment.
An excellent feature of the Smith & Wesson M&P Compact 9mm is that all of the controls are ambidextrous. This is a very important factor for shooters who are left handed. While it is common to find ambidextrous magazine releases on handguns, the Smith & Wesson is unique in that is also has an ambidextrous slide stop release lever.
